This week has been busy as I was on the road for 3 days working with a client. It was a 7 hour drive from London with the traffic around Birmingham and then Liverpool/Manchester and torrential rain slowing things down. I was mapping processes for my client who is frustrated with a broken process, low morale, 100s of pain points and risks. I love working with people like this and helping them ‘learning to see’ their process.
It’s hard to face up to the truth but you have to if you want to get better and improve. I’m passionate about this and this is another reason why I’m doing my Affiliate Marketing business to help people like you to learn to see where you are now, and make a vision where you want to go. Then help you build the blocks you need to get there. If you haven’t already sign up to my free email newsletter and I’ll help you get on your way.
This week I want to talk about identity, my logo, what it means to me. Having values that you care about and identify your business with are important for your clients, customers and subscribers to get to know you, like you and trust you. I’ll be talking about the values later and I truly believe in them.
What’s in a name?
Atif Perwiz Blogging – This is the name I chose after Dean’s training on creating my ‘Owned Asset’. I basically had two choices either choose the name that has my own personal name in it or I choose a company name or some kind of description of what I’m doing. Many people have chosen names like. ‘ make money with…’, or ‘ from rags to riches’ type of thing. Even though that’s absolutely fine that isn’t the direction I wanted to go in. The reason is that it puts you in a position that you either are in now or the destination you want to get to or sometimes the journey you’ll be going on. So they are locked into a time span or a journey.
I wanted it to be more about me developing as a person into what I need to be to then become successful at affiliate marketing. I want people to identify with me and the position I was in and what I’m currently doing now to get to the point in the future where they also want to be. So in effect it’s like me holding the hands of hundred and thousands of people and we moved together, grow together learn together. It’s a bit abstract but I think you get the point.
The other thing is at the end of the day is that it’s my name. What better brand is there for you than your own name? My name? Atif it’s Persian and it means kind, affectionate and generous. That is the character that I try to be every day and the kind of person I need to be to help people who want to change their lives and build up their own online businesses.
I want people to get to know me, so that they get to like me, get to know me and then eventually get to trust me. Then become friends, like Family where there is total trust, everyone’s got each other’s back and we help each other. Collectively this group as a whole I refer to as TeamBABA, but more about that later.
On all of my social media, I have kept my name Atif Perwiz without changing it to a specific point in time or a mission or anything like that. It’s just me so the brand I’m building is not my business or affiliate marketing but me myself. Just like within our coaching group, it’s Sophie and Dean and Glenn that I aspire to be, other ones who are helping me, the ones with the knowledge and the experience of actually having done it. I want to identify with them. I trust and believe them as a brand.
APB Logo………what is that supposed to be?
Trying to come up with a logo is not easy. There’s a lot to think about or sometimes you end up overthinking it. Important thing to me was to have my initials in there to show the universe or world that I am working with and also what is required or what are supporting, tools and systems that are the scaffolding around the business that will help us achieve the end goal.
So with that you can see the logo I’ve created. Admittedly it is a bit dull and plain at the moment, but it’s my intention to develop it into a more interesting logo overtime. I haven’t learnt how to do that yet but it’s another skill I need to learn and then of course I will teach you that too.
You see the circle that circle is the Earth or a planet if you will. Written in the middle is APB which stands for Atif Perwiz Blogging. That is surrounded by a variety of tools. In the logo the tools are quite traditional in the sense and include spanners, drills and pliers that kind of thing and what do you do with those? You fix things, you build things you need them to create something or change something. These are a metaphor for the software systems and tools that I need and you will need when building your affiliate marketing system.
The kind of tools I’m talking about; WordPress to build your blog, namecheap to buy your domain name, cloudflare to host your website, and auto responder to manage your email sequencing, automation tools to create your workflow, tools to create sales funnels, webinar creation tools and AI are just amongst the many different tools systems and software you require to actually build this business. It’s the practical side the technical side of building your affiliate marketing business so that’s what my logo is. It’s a mini universe with you me, our colleagues, friends and family, working together with the tools described above to build an online business that will change our lives and propel us into the next galaxy. I know it’s a bit weird but just go with it LOL.
TeamBABA, is that a cycling team in the Tour De France?
I will sometimes refer to TeamBABA, what is that that? Well ‘Baba’ is Arabic for Father, it’s what my children call me and in fact some of my nephews and nieces do too. It means a lot to me as it means dependable, honest, secure, safety, integrity, someone to depend on and someone who has your back and will look after you. ‘Team’ is us, you, me our families, coaches and colleagues, in fact anyone and working in teams is the best way to learn, grow and get real life help. One ‘Team’ One ‘Dream’. So, that is TeamBABA.
Thinking a little bit longer term I hope to get to a point where I actually create a company a limited company in the UK. I think they’re called LLC in the USA. This would be the actual business that I would grow. As affiliate marketing business grows, I hope to branch out into other niches and then I’ve got some exciting plans for introducing new courses and products that are very personal to me that will benefit people greatly. These are based on the last 25 years experience in my professional capacity, so all these different ideas and smaller businesses would sit under the umbrella of TeamBaba.
Value added or non-value added
This term value added or non-value added comes from my day job as a lean six sigma process improvement Consultant. Value is a very important word and one that must be understood in terms of your customer. Value is something your customer experiences or wants and is willing to pay for, everything around that i.e. waiting time delays etc. is waste and therefore non-valued added activities.
Taking the word value further, most companies have a set of values that they expect their employees to follow and behave in a certain way. The following are values that are very important to me and what drive me in my thinking and in the way I work. These aren’t just for the sake of, having a set of values I actually truly believe them and try hardest to act and live in that manner. Let me know in the comments which ones are important to you or what other values do you identify yourself with?
My Values
Islam – live as Allah has commanded me to with the example of prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
Honesty – Always telling the truth
Bold – going all out to learn and achieve no matter what gets in the way
Trust – Do what I say I will do
Freedom – Allow myself and my clients to be free to think and express their ideas
Fun – Laugh and enjoy every day
Modesty – Decency in my appearance, language and manner with people
Integrity – This the one VALUE that covers all the ones above
I trust this has given you an understanding of what I am, my purpose and my branding.
Please let me know in the comments any thoughts on what you’ve read here and what you think you’ve learnt and what you think you’ll start to do different. What will you stop doing now and what will you start doing? I’d love to hear from you, so please do leave comments below.

Hi, Atif!
I love that you took the time for this topic. What a wonderful way to get to know you better! I really like your logo. I also like that you are so upfront about your religious beliefs. It helps me to understand that when you say honesty and trust are so important to you, you’re speaking about more than popular value words. I have insight that you really mean them.
I’m working on boldness in my life! You are a good example of that to follow!
Keep it going!

Dear Atif, I imagine your mind wandering on your recent road trip and visualizing the future of the wealth being magnetically drawn to you, for you are sure to succeed in wealth, health and prosperity ❤️
Atif! I absolutely adore your post. I appreciate and adore that you broke down the marketing aspects behind your business, your logo, your name… all of which ARE your marketing! Whether subtle or obvious, all of those things make up your business, APB. Your audience doesn’t need to understand the details of your logo (sure they can read this blog if they want to know more) but even from a subtle standpoint, it makes sense that you’re bringing all of those tools together.
Oh, and your name, I can honestly and whole-heartedly say you embody all the descriptive words of your name, Atif. I believe your parents knew exactly what they were doing when they named you.
And that TeamBABA thing… sounds like an incredible group of people. Sure sounds like something I’d like to be apart of.
As usual, another extremely valuable post, my friend! Your explanation of why you chose to brand yourself only exemplify the logo and design. I admire you for placing your values above all. This will truly inspire others to brand themselves in an appropriate manner. I have been thinking of rebranding (or really just fixing) my logo. Thanks for laying it out there for others to learn from and consider. Take care and much success!
Team BABA, sign me up, and please send a T-shirt size S, lol! Being an affiliate marketer is more than just linking people to a product of value, you are a business a brand. I love that you have defined yours. Knowing what your brand stands for and your core values provides a strong foundation and helps build know like and trust with your audience. I really enjoy reading your blog posts each week and following you on social media; getting to know you and following your journey has been inspirational. I see you walking the walking! You work a full-time job, take care of your family and friends, be true to your religious beliefs, and show up consistently for your fans and your business – truly you motivate me every day!
I really like the Team Baba concept, and even if I didn’t know what it means, it has a nice sound to it.
And I think it’s a good idea using your name as your “brand”, along with that is of course your face – you have a distinctive look that looks kind, open, and generous – so I’d say you’re doing a good job of create a “brand” that connects with people and is relatable.
Atif,
You have in this post given us, your fans, an insight into you. I believe it was a wise decision to use your name as your business. With each blog you write we are getting to know, like and trust you. I enjoy following you on social media. I can tell you have put a lot of thought into your logo and it shows. You have motivated me to start designing my logo as I think every business needs one.

Your parents knew what they were doing when they named you. Those attributes certainly shine through.
Your journey on TT popped up a couple of times, I loved seeing the bridge, it was stunning.
There has been a lot of thought into your logo and it shines through.
Atif, WOW! Absolutely brilliant and well-thought-out blog post. The reason is that this post embodies the getting to know, like, and trust you factor. All of your content is presented in a way that allows your audience to know exactly who you are, where you’re from, and an insight into where you are going in the future. Your explanations about your background and values are not only a teaching tool into who you are and what you can provide to others but also a glimpse into the mind and heart of who Atif is, enveloping all of the characteristics you listed above. Well done, my friend. WELL DONE!
Hi Atif,
You are a great motivation and inspiration to follow. I enjoy reading your blog post every week. You have them all jam-packed with great inspiring information every time…. I love to read and learn about your religion too. Thank you for your post today!

Hi Atif, congratulation , once again, you’ve nailed it! Your post truly captures your personality, essence, and values. By sharing your core values, you’re demonstrating to your audience that you’re a trustworthy individual, fostering not just business relationships but also friendships. You’re an inspiration to those of us who are forging a brighter future through affiliate marketing.
Atif,
I like that you took the time to put together a logo that has a specific meaning and that it encompasses who you are and what you’re striving to become. This isn’t just a logo it is your brand!
My company 5 talents group llc. is a investment holdings company and one of it’s investments is cjsjmarketing.com. The name of the company has great meaning. In the bible the story of the talents where the person with one talent wasn’t a good steward. however the 5 talent man was a good steward so he was blessed with 5 more and given the 1 talent for the unprosperous servant. It reminds me everyday for me and my company to be good stewards of what God has given us.
It is important for you company name and logo to have meaning because helps identify who you are.
Great post and it provides value in showing how one should think about a company name and logo.
