“No traffic means no leads. No leads means no sales.”
If you have been following my 10 Part series (and if not why not?)
You’ve built the blog.
You’ve written the emails.
You’ve crafted a killer lead magnet and polished your landing page.
Now you’re staring at your screen, refreshing the page… and no one’s signing up.
That’s because affiliate marketing only works when people actually see your offer.
And that’s what this post is about:
How to drive quality traffic and the tools that help you do it the smart way.
What Is Traffic (and Why It Matters So Much)?
Traffic is simply the number of people who visit your content, whether it’s:
• Your blog
• A TikTok video
• A landing page
• Or even your direct affiliate link
But not all traffic is created equal.
There’s:
• Cold traffic – they don’t know you (yet)
• Warm traffic – they’ve seen your content before
• Hot traffic – they trust you and are ready to take action
You need to get people to Know You, Trust You and Like You, that’s when you give them the most value, and then sales will come.
This post will show you how to:
• Attract traffic
• Track where it’s coming from
• And turn it into subscribers and commissions
Let’s break it down.
The 3 Types of Traffic (Explained for Beginners)
1. Free (Organic) Traffic
Free traffic means you don’t pay money, you pay with your time, consistency, and creativity.
These platforms are gold for beginners because they build your brand while growing your audience.
TikTok (I have 2; atif.perwiz and Atif.Gets.Active – Check them out)
A short-form video platform where going viral is possible, even with zero followers.
Why it works:
• Massive organic reach
• Great for storytelling and quick tips
• Ideal for “documenting your journey” style content
Best Use: Share affiliate tips, mini case studies, lifestyle content, and direct viewers to your bio link.
Instagram (I have 2; atif.perwiz and carpprecination – Check them out)
Visual-first platform with multiple traffic angles: reels, carousels, stories, and DMs.
Why it works:
• Reels get great organic reach
• Carousel posts allow you to teach and build trust
• DMs are powerful for building 1:1 conversations
Best Use: Repurpose TikTok content, post behind-the-scenes tips, or nurture audience trust via stories and highlights.
YouTube
Long-form content that builds evergreen traffic over months and years.
Why it works:
• People come to YouTube with intent
• Great for reviews, tutorials, and storytelling
• Videos can rank for years
Best Use: Teach your affiliate strategy, review tools, or share your personal transformation.
A search engine disguised as a visual platform.
Why it works:
• Pins have long shelf lives (up to 6–12 months)
• Excellent for driving traffic to blogs and lead magnets
Best Use: Design vertical pins using Canva that link to blog posts, landing pages, or free lead magnets.
Blog SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
Blog content optimised to rank on Google and bring in search-based traffic.
Why it works:
• You attract people already looking for answers
• High-quality traffic that grows over time
Best Use: Target specific keywords using Ubersuggest. Write helpful posts and guide readers to opt-in or click your affiliate links.
Facebook Groups
Niche communities where people discuss problems, ask for advice, and share resources.
Why it works:
• Built-in trust
• Engagement can happen fast
• You can become a known name in your niche
Best Use: Give value. Answer questions. Drop helpful links occasionally, not spammy promotions.
2. Paid Traffic (When You’re Ready to Scale)
Paid traffic allows you to speed up the process but only when your funnel is working.
Facebook & Instagram Ads
Meta’s ad platform allows highly targeted promotion based on interests, behaviours, and demographics.
Why it works:
• You can retarget video watchers or email subscribers
• Scale what already converts
• Test different creatives easily
Best Use: Direct to lead magnets, not affiliate links. Focus on building your list.
YouTube Ads
Run video ads that appear before or during other videos, great for visual storytelling.
Why it works:
• You can laser-target by keyword, video topic, or even specific channels
• Warm leads from highly engaged viewers
Best Use: Teach one key point, then direct to a simple landing page.
Google Search Ads
Text-based ads that appear at the top of search results when someone types a specific keyword.
Why it works:
• High-intent traffic
• You show up when someone is already looking for what you offer
Best Use: Run ads targeting affiliate-related keywords like “best email autoresponder for beginners.”
TikTok Ads
Still underpriced. Great for testing short video creatives and reaching younger audiences.
Why it works:
• Explosive reach
• Excellent video ad platform
• Highly engaging format
Best Use: Start with small $10–$20/day campaigns. Drive traffic to a high-value lead magnet.
Solo Ads (Beginner’s Guide)
What are Solo Ads?
You pay a seller with a large email list to send traffic to your opt-in page.
Why it works:
• Quick traffic
• No content creation required
• Often targeted at people interested in “make money online,” affiliate marketing, etc.
Pros:
• Great for list building
• Beginner-friendly
• Fast setup
Cons:
• Not all sellers have high-quality lists
• You may need to nurture leads more before they convert
• Always test with a small batch before scaling
• You have to do your research to ensure these are not bots, email the person Solo Ads seller directly with questions
Best Use: Send solo ad traffic to a lead magnet that delivers real value and builds trust over time.
Solos Ads Links: Do your research (Udimi and Traffic Blade)
Special Focus: Facebook Lead Ads (Detailed Breakdown)
What Are Facebook Lead Ads?
They’re ad formats where users can submit their name and email without leaving Facebook.
Why they’re powerful:
• Frictionless opt-ins (pre-filled fields)
• Higher opt-in rates than most landing pages
• Great for beginners with small budgets
How They Work:
1.You create a lead ad campaign inside Meta Ads Manager
2.Design a short form (name, email)
3.Choose targeting (location, interests, behaviours)
4.Add your image/video and a strong offer
5.When someone taps the ad, the form opens instantly
Tips for Beginners:
• Use a lead magnet that solves one problem fast
• Keep copy simple and benefit-driven
• Test multiple audiences (age, gender, interests)
• Always follow up with email immediately
Performance Expectations:
• Opt-in rates: 25–40% (higher than landing pages)
• Cost per lead: £0.50–£2.00 depending on niche and targeting (approx $5 per day)
• Best for: growing your list, not making instant sales
💡 Atif’s Note: This is what I’m using right now and it’s working. I have over 970 (as of today’s date) on my email list and it’s growing daily.
