I’m an affiliate marketer exploring digital products, email marketing, and online income but my main focus and mission right now is becoming a full-time TikTok Shop creator affiliate. I’ve set myself a challenge to earn $10,000 per month through TikTok by promoting products as a creator affiliate and I’m documenting the entire journey here, step by step, so you can follow along, learn from my wins (and mistakes), and do the same if you choose. TikTok Shop is TikTok’s built-in e-commerce platform that allows sellers, brands, and creators to promote and sell products directly within the app. That means you can earn commissions by recommending products in your videos. No external website, no inventory, no complicated tech, just a video, a product, and a clickable link.

It’s the ultimate combo of content + commerce. It’s affiliate marketing reimagined for the short-form video era.

The TikTok Shop Ecosystem Explained

There are 3 key players:

1. Sellers: People or brands who list products on TikTok Shop.
2. Creator Affiliates (That’s me and you!): You create videos showcasing these products. If someone buys via your link, you get paid.
3. Customers: Everyday TikTok users who discover products through videos and buy with one click.

The magic? It all happens inside the TikTok app. Users can watch, trust, and purchase within seconds.

Why This is a Huge Opportunity for Creators?

• Low barrier to entry: You don’t need a big following or any prior experience.
• No physical product required: No stock, no shipping, no customer service,  just promote and earn.
• TikTok wants this to work: The platform is investing heavily into growing TikTok Shop.

How Do You Actually Make Money?

There are two primary income streams:

1. Commission on Product Sales

You earn a % of each sale through your affiliate link.

Example:

• Product price: £20
• Commission: 30%
• You earn: £6 per sale
• If 50 people buy = £300

Some products pay 10%, others pay 50%+. Focus on useful, visually demonstrable products that solve a problem or wow the viewer.

2. Creator Rewards (Bonus, Optional)

TikTok also pays small rewards for engagement and sales performance, but your main focus should be sales commissions.

Step-by-Step: How to Get Started Today

Step 1: Sign Up as a Creator Affiliate

**NOTE: There is a min followers threshold of 1,000 (in the UK) and 5,000 (in the US) before you can become an affiliate. This does and may change so make sure you see what the rues are in your area. Some countries don’t have TikTok shop. Currently the following countries do: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam NOTE***

1. Visit: https://www.tiktok.com
2. Log in with your TikTok account or start a new account
3. Submit your info (make sure your profile has a profile photo, bio, and at least 1 video)
4. Start posting content everyday (in your niche) and build up your followers

Pro Tip: If you’re brand new, post a simple video explaining why you’re excited to start as a TikTok Shop creator this helps build credibility for approval.

Step 2: Set Up Your Profile for Success

• Make sure your bio is clear: “Sharing my favourite finds on TikTok Shop”
• Add a call-to-action: “Shop my finds below 👇”
• Link your shop tab if it’s enabled or use a link-in-bio tool like Beacons or Stan Store to host your product links

Step 3: Browse the Creator Marketplace

Once approved, you’ll gain access to:

• Product catalog sorted by category, commission, shipping
• Campaigns (limited-time promotions)
• Request sample button (if seller allows it)

Pro Tip: Don’t waste time waiting for samples choose something under £10 you can buy and review now.

Step 4: Select Your First Product to Promote

When choosing:

• Look for 30%+ commission
• Search “viral” or “trending” on TikTok and see what products are popular
• Choose something easy to demonstrate in 10–30 seconds

Step 5: Record Your First Video

Use this 3-part format:

HOOK (First 3 Seconds):

• “TikTok made me buy this, but here’s why I’m glad I did.”

MIDDLE (Show Product in Use):

• Unbox it
• Demonstrate it
• Show results (before/after, working example)

END (Call to Action):

• “Link in my bio if you want to try it.”
• “I’ve added this to my TikTok Shop tab.”
• “Let me know if you’ve used this too!”

Tip: Post your first video in natural daylight. No fancy gear needed your phone and authenticity are your greatest tools.

Step 6: Post, Learn, Improve

• Post once a day for 7 days
• Review analytics inside the TikTok Shop Creator Center:
  • Views
  • Clicks
  • Conversion rate
  • Commission earned

Repost your best videos with slight tweaks to the hook or music this alone can 10x results.
